Madonnaā€™s new scent takes her back to childhood memories

Courtesy Coty Madonna at the New York launch of her new fragrance Madonna is accustomed to causing a stink, but this season sheā€™s doing it with actual perfume instead of gyrations and strategically positioned crucifixes and other emotionally loaded cultural symbols. (Although the iconoclast is still doing that, too ā€” just ask Tel Aviv concertgoers.) In an interview about her new perfume, Truth or Dare, Madonna told  Womenā€™s Wear Daily  that she wanted to recreate the heady scent she remembers her late mother wearing. The intoxicating and mysterious stuff of her memories was French couturier Robert Piguetā€™s groundbreaking 1948 scent, Fracas. Itā€™s a symphonic tuberose gardenia, typical of bygone film noir  femmes fatales . Reading about the process recalls the musings of Fred MacMurrayā€™s hapless Walter Neff, in Billy Wilderā€™s  Double Indemnity : ā€œIt was a hot afternoon, and I can still remember the smell of honeysuckle all along that street....

Kylie groans at Madonna outfit

Kylie Minogue has poked fun at  Madonna  for the cheerleader outfit the 53-year-old has worn on stage during her world tour. The songstress, who herself wears a revealing black web dress in the music video for her latest single 'Timebomb', took a swipe at the 53-year-old 'queen of pop' for dressing too young, Stuff reported. Minogue's comment, which came after some prompting, occurred during her appearance on 'Fashion Police', the catty American chat show co-hosted by comedienne  Joan Rivers  and  Kelly Osbourne . Rivers showed a picture of Madonna dressed as a cheerleader and asked Minogue for her opinion. "No - just no," Minogue said. Taking a cue from the singer, even the host took a swing at the pop star. "Madonna, stop it already, you're 108. Madonna as a cheerleader? What school does she go to? Our Lady of Osteoporosis? She looks like she flunked 10th grade 48 times," Rivers said.
