Madonna's yearbook goes under the hammer

Before she was famous ... Madonna in pal's yearbook that is set for auction k By ELLIE ROSS Published: 23rd May 2012 A SCHOOL yearbook with a picture of MADONNA before she was famous has emerged from one of the star’s former classmates. The snap shows the fresh-faced teen with dark air and Madge’s unmistakeable features. Beneath the photo of the future pop star is her name - Madonna Ciccone. She signed the back of the West Junior High School book to her pal Nancy. The future Queen of Pop wrote: “Dear Nancy, I hope you have fun at Adams and all the years to come, Madonna “76”.” It is unclear what the “76” refers to, but Adams is the name of the high school in Rochester that Nancy went on to. The book was published at the end of the 1971-1972 school year, when Madonna was 13 or 14 and leaving her high school in Michigan, US. Now it is expected to fetch up to £1,500 pounds when it goes under the hammer at Christie’s auction house in London.

Madonna wished to become US President

Madonna thinks she would do a great job as President of the United States because she would stop the country splashing cash on "weapons of mass destruction".  "You can't really change much in one day. I think I would like to be president for a longer time. I wouldn't spend as much money for weapons of mass destruction but instead for education and art," Contactmusic quoted her as saying when asked what she would do if she was President of the United States for one day.  Although she has achieved worldwide success, Madonna's ambition and drive has not diminished over the years.  The 53-year-old singer attributes her success to her thirst for reinvention and never taking ''anything for granted".  "It's harder to stay famous than become famous. I don't think there's a rule for that (staying successful). You have to really love what you're doing. "You have to feed your soul with ideas and you're not al
