April 1 2012, Madonna achieved her 12th UK #1 album with MDNA, overtaking Elvis Presley as the solo artist with the most chart-topping albums of all-time in Great Britain.

Madonna has added another Guinness World Records title to her collection after her latest album MDNA went straight in at No.1 in the UK charts at the weekend. It marks the 12th time the singer has reached the top spot with a long-player, making her the most successful solo artist ever on the UK album charts, edging past Elvis Presley's record of 11 No.1 albums. Madonna's No.1 albums (Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer, The Immaculate Collection, Evita (film soundtrack), Ray of Light, Music, American Life, Confessions on a Dance Floor, Hard Candy, Celebration and MDNA) have spent 30 cumulative weeks at No.1 - more than any other solo female on the UK albums chart. Elvis Presley has had 11 UK No.1 albums (Rock 'n Roll, Loving You (film soundtrack), King Creole (film soundtrack), Elvis is Back!, G.I. Blues (film soundtrack), Blue Hawaii (film soundtrack), Pot Luck, From Elvis in Memphis, 40 Greatest, Elv1s - 30 #1 Hits, The King). Madonna still trails The

April 1, 2003 // Madonna withdraws 'American Life' Video, and released a statement.

The star says she "does not believe it is appropriate" to air the promo while the war in Iraq rages... MADONNA has decided to withdraw the video for her new single ‘AMERICAN LIFE’, her publicist has told NME.COM. The clip, which according to a statement has been “the subject of rumors and misinformation”, was due to premiere this Friday (April 4), but it will now not be shown. Madonna  said: “I have decided not to release my new video. It was filmed before the war started and I do not believe it is appropriate to air it at this time. Due to the volatile state of the world and out of sensitivity and respect to the armed forces, who I support and pray for, I do not want to risk offending anyone who might misinterpret the meaning of this video.” The video sees the star in a military uniform playing a superhero against a backdrop of what her press release describes as “current cultural obsessions”.

"25 Things You Didn't Know About Me" by Madonna for US Weekly. ... Madonna - US Weekly / March 30 2015

The icon, 56 – whose 13th album, Rebel Heart, is out now – reveals her secrets 1.  My all-time favorite Madonna song is “B*tch, I’m Madonna” – naturally. And my least favorite is “Material Girl.” I never, ever want to hear it again! 2.  My favorite city is Rome. It’s so beautiful. The light is soothing and calming to me, the architecture is splendid and the food is incredible. I totally love it. 3.  I can’t stand mushrooms. Or escargot. Yuck! It’s like snot. Expensive snot. 4.  The person I idolize the most is Paul Farmer. He’s a doctor and activist who rebuilt the health-care system in Haiti even before the 2010 earthquake. He’s done the same in Rwanda. 5.  The last time I went grocery shopping was a year ago. 6.  I miss absolutely nothing about growing up in Michigan. Nothing at all. 7.  The person I most want to meet is President Obama. When the heck am I going to meet him? He just needs to invite me to the White House already. He probably thinks I’m too shocking t

Madonna Reveals Which Ex She Would Choose To Be With On A Deserted Island

Madonna recently revealed which ex boyfriend would choose to be with on a deserted island.   In a candid Q&A with Us Weekly, Madonna, 56, opened up about Dennis Rodman and rapper Vanilla Ice.  "If I were trapped on a desert island with either Vanilla Ice or Dennis Rodman, I would pick Dennis," the Queen of Pop said, noting: "He has a better sense of humor. Plus, he could always wear my clothes." Speaking of humor,Madonna referred to Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle. "My secret beauty ritual is to put ice on my eyes every morning. Ice, ice baby," the pop icon claimed, referencing a lyric from his 1989 big hit.

March 27, 2015 // Madonna was the cover star of New York gay magazine Next.

The last time I spoke with Madonna—and believe me, I never partic- ularly set out to be someone who has chatted with the biggest living pop star in the history of the world more than once, to have taken her small, bony, birdlike hand in my own on multiple occasions—was just be- fore the release of her film W.E. It was a roundtable interview at the Wal- dorf Astoria with mostly gay media outlets—there was one very handsome straight guy from Spain who, if I remember correctly, Madonna paid particular attention to. This was fall 2011, a couple months before her 2012 Super Bowl halftime show, and on top of that and the film pro- motion, she was also busy prepping her last album, MDNA. To say she had a lot on her plate is definitely an understatement. So, Madonna was late. Like, two hours late. When she finally arrived, her long-time publicist Liz Rosenberg re- minded her that this was a room full of gay guys. She seemed to sigh with relief. “So, we’ll end the day with some levity.”
