Today, she travelled to Dublin to grieve her close friend. David Collins was an Irish architect who specialised in designing the interiors of bars and restaurants in London. He was also a close friend of Madonna and had worked on several of her homes. The funeral for Mr Collins, who was diagnosed just three weeks ago with skin cancer, was held today at St. Patrick’s Church in Monkstown. Madonna was just one of the many famous faces who travelled to mourn his loss, with BBC star Graham Norton also among the congregation. The photographer behind Madonna's infamous Sex book is caught up in his own headline-grabbing story after launching legal action against his ex-boyfriend. Celebrated fashion snapper Steven Meisel, who also shot the Material Girl's Like A Virgin album cover, filed suit on Tuesday against his former lover Benjamin Forest. Meisel wants a judge to rule that Forest has no legal claim against his property portfolio, including his $US13 million estate in Los Angeles, following their 2010 split. The lawsuit, obtained by New York Post gossip column Page Six, states, "There exists no agreement, oral (or) in writing, conferring up the defendant the right to receive any funds (from the house). Plaintiff is no longer willing to provide, voluntarily and gratuitously, for any of defendant's living expenses." Pop superstar MADONNA has expressed her grief following the death of her close friend, Irish interior designer DAVID COLLINS. The 58 year old, who designed interiors for many high end fashion boutiques and luxury department stores, passed away on Wednesday (17Jul13), just three weeks after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of skin cancer. Madonna was left heartbroken by the news, and she posted a tribute on her Instagram page in memory of her pal. She uploaded a picture of pink roses with the message, "In memory of David Collins. He was a great talent and A good and loyal friend for 17 years! god bless him and may he R.I. P." Madonna was spotted flying into London's Heathrow Airport two days after Collins' death wearing a sober black outfit, and she is expected to be among the mourners at his funeral in Ireland this week .
