The inspiration behind the video. Hello everyone! This month’s music video to be analyzed is the for “Bedtime Story”, While this video is tricky for its various sources of inspiration, it’s one of her best, if not  the   best, and an underrated one by most fans. I am sure that, after reading all of this, you’ll find yourself more in love with the true artist Madonna really is. Madonna called upon “Rain” director Mark Romanek to do the music video for “Bedtime Story” after she saw what he had done with Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”. As she always does, she listened to the song over and over again, trying to think of a concept for a video. The theme she held on to for this one was dreams, it’s meaning, concepts, imagery and works based on it. On November 25, 1987 the third and final single from the   'Who's That Girl' soundtrack, "The Look of Love" was released.    While shooting for the film, then called Slammer, Madonna had requested that producer Patrick Leonard develop a downtempo song that captured the nature of her film persona. She later added the lyrics and vocals to the demo tape developed by Leonard, and the song was "The Look of Love". Madonna was inspired by the 1954 film 'Rear Window' and the look that actor James Stewart gave actress Grace Kelly. Before the days of a CD Burner, you couldn't put together a better album than Madonna's greatest hits compilation, "The Immaculate Collection". The album featured all of her best singles from the years 1982-1990, which included "Holiday", "Vogue", "Like a Prayer", and several other iconic songs. The album would spend 9 weeks atop the charts and went multi-platinum in 12 countries (including 12x platinum in the UK). "The Immaculate Collection" also featured two new singles by Madonna: "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me". "Justify My Love" became a number 1 single and got it's music video banned by MTV for sexual and explicit content.
