Madonna looks back on Truth or Dare: 'I sort of gag when I watch it'

It’s one of the best music documentaries ever—and offered viewers an unfettered look at one of the world’s biggest celebrities. But what does the film’s subject, Madonna, think about the movie,  Truth or Dare , 25 years after its release? In the  issue of EW ,  guest editor Andy Cohen  sat down with the singer to talk about her upcoming Rebel Heart tour, but the conversation later turned to the classic doc directed by Alek Keshishian, who trailed the singer on her Blond Ambition Tour in the early-’90s. So has the singer revisited it recently? “I’ve seen bits and pieces from it,” she says. “I sort of gag when I watch it, cause I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t.’ It’s hard to watch myself do anything. May 6, 1998 // Madonna's single "Ray of Light", was released..!!

  The album's second single, "Ray of Light", was released on May 6, 1998. It peaked at number one in Spain and attained the top five position in Canada, Finland, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.  It entered the Hot 100 at number five, becoming Madonna's highest debut on the chart ever. The song was also a hit on Hot Dance Club Play chart, remaining at number one for four weeks, and became the "Top Hot Dance Club Play Single" of 1998. Critically, it also received positive reviews, being praised for its club-perfect, yet "sonically progressive" sound, as well as her powerful vocals.

May 5 1990, "Vogue/Keep It Together" topped Australian ARIA singles chart..!!

"Vogue" was also a huge success in Europe by topping the  Eurochart Hot 100 Singles  chart for eight consecutive weeks. In the United Kingdom, the song knocked  Snap! 's " The Power " off the number one slot and stayed there for four weeks, continuing a trend of club/pop crossovers going to number one. It was helped in the UK by multi-formatting. As well as the 7, 12, CD and cassette singles, the label released four limited editions: 12 with Face of the 80s poster, 12 with 'X-rated poster and an extra remix on the b-side, 7 picture disc and 12 picture disc. Pulitzer-Prize-winning author  David Mamet 's Speed-the-Plow premiered on Broadway in 1988 at the Royale Theatre, starring Madonna. This was the pop sensation's first theatrical role on the Great White Way. Below, watch interviews and more from opening night in 1988! Speed-the-Plow is Mamet's satire of the film industry and was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Direction of a Play ( Gregory Mosher ). The show ran for a total of 23 previews and 279 performances on Broadway. Madonna starred as 'Karen' alongside  Joe Mantegna  as 'Bobby Gould' and  Ron Silver  as 'Charlie Fox'. The show's original creative team featured scenic design by  Michael Merritt , costume design by Nan Cibula , and lighting design by  Kevin Rigdon .
