They were rumoured to have started dating earlier this month, after meeting while both students at the esteemed LaGuardia High School of Music & Art & Performing Arts.

And now Madonna's 16-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon has been pictured for the first time with her Homeland star beau Timotheé Chalamet, 17.

The teenage couple were pictured going to dinner with Lourdes' father Carlos Leon and his girlfriend in SoHo, New York, on Sunday night.

Lourdes wore miniskirt, tights and brown boots for the evening out, while Timotheé, who plays Finn, the son of vice-president Walden on the hit Showtime series, went for a similarly trendy look in baggy trousers and baseball cap.

And the pair's relationship appears to be going from strength to strength, with Timotheé and Lourdes even swapping their jackets at one point during their date.

Timotheé kept a casual arm around his girlfriend's shoulders as they strolled along the New York streets slightly behind Carlos and his girlfriend.

A source told the New York Post of the pair's fledgling relationship earlier this month that it's 'common knowledge at the school that the pair are dating.'

The pair were recently featured amongst other students at the performing arts high school in New York Magazine's Reason's to Love New York issue, under the heading 'Because La Guardia High School is Still Churning Out Talent.'

Meanwhile, another insider told Usmagazine.com: 'Dating is a loose term for it, but yes, they are teenagers being teenagers so I guess you can call it that.

'It has not been going on for very long at all.'

Lourdes is Madonna's daughter with actor and personal trainer Carlos Leon, who is famously protective of his little girl.

When asked about Lourdes dating a few years ago, he said 'I'm dreading it... I want her to stay young forever. I'm already overprotective, so when the time comes, I will be ready to have a talk with the guy she brings through the door. He better be ready because I'll give him the run-down!'

Madonna seems equally as protective of her daughter, if not strict.

In an interview last October with RDS, Madonna talked about her anger over finding out Lourdes smoked a cigarette and cited the 15-year-old's 'rules and regulations' and that 'she doesn't go out on dates with boys.'

Hopefully, this real-life youthful romance fares better than Chalamet's did on Homeland.

Lourdes is planning on moving out of her mother's home and paying for her higher education at Bard College on her own dime, with the money she made from her Material Girl clothing line, according to recent reports.

The fashion line has been a huge hit at Macy's since it launched in 2009, in direct competition with Madonna's popular M line at H&M.
