MADONNA THRILLS HER FANS AT ROGERS ARENA IN VANCOUVER

The Queen of Pop has reigned for nearly four decades and lest anyone forgets, she stopped in on Vancouver Wednesday evening with a strongly worded reminder: “B-tch, I’m Madonna.”
The perpetual hitmaker performed at Rogers Arena this week as part of her 2015 Rebel Heart Tour, to the delight of her devoted fans.
Madonna, now 57, has been a part of pop culture’s fabric since her self-titled debut was released in 1983 by Sire Records.
Since then, a steady stream of singles, film appearances and business ventures have kept Madonna at the forefront of pop consciousness. Her career has been built on a daring and wild style, as well as hits like 1984’s “Like a Virgin”, 1987’s “La Isla Bonita”, 1998’s “Ray of Light” and 2005’s “Hung Up.”
Most recently, Madonna teamed up with the ever-controversial Nicki Minaj for “B-tch, I’m Madonna,” a four-minute party track that walks a fine line between re-establishing dominance as the Queen of Pop, and desperately grasping at what might be a fading relevance.
Madonna’s last jaunt through Vancouver was in 2012, also at Rogers Arena, on her MDNA Tour, marking her 12th studio album, MDNA.
This year’s Rebel Heart Tour will take the artist across North America, Europe and Asia, before concluding in Australia in March 2016, wrapping up with a total of 81 scheduled shows.
Earlier in the week, Madonna played two shows at Edmonton’s Rexall Place, even stopping one of the shows midway to help a couple in the front row get engaged before a packed arena.
