Guinness World Records confirm: Madonna is the best selling female recording artist of all time.

The new 2016 Edition of the  Guinness Book of World Records  confirms what we already know:  Madonna is the best selling female recording artist of all time. According to the Guinness Book of World Records Madonna (USA, b. Madonna Ciccone) has sold more than 300 million albums  in her career since debuting with her self-titled release in 1983. Stay tuned for more records.

"Music" is the eighth studio album by American singer Madonna, released On September 19th 2000 by Maverick Records.

When the news about a new album got out, expectations from both fans and critics were high. With  Ray Of Light , Madonna has re-invented herself again as a spiritual woman, expressing her feelings after the birth of her daughter. But she also set a high standard now. However, if anyone can top the success of  Ray Of Light , it would have to be Madonna! And again she took a whole new direction. She strayed away from the spiritual, multi-layered  Ray Of Light . This album was recorded late 1999, early 2000. Although it was ready by early summer, the release got pushed back because of Madonna's pregnancy with Rocco. In the meantime, only few official reports were released, giving wild rumours free play. Several names for the album circulated, 'Epiphany' being one of the best known. Madonna poses on Sept. 14, 1984 at New York's Radio City Music Hall -- during the first-ever VMAs, where she was  nominated  for best new artist in a video for "Borderline."  Madonna performed "Like a Virgin" wearing a bustier/wedding gown, including her trademark  "Boy Toy" belt. The sexy number found Madonna emerging from a 17-foot wedding cake and  rolling  around on the floor in a performance that helped put this budding pop star on the map.

Rebel Heart Tour: Madonna Takes the Verizon Center by Storm (review)

“I still believe in love — even if Barack Obama didn’t come to my show,” Madonna teased near the end of Saturday night’s concert at the Verizon Center. “Maybe I’m too provocative.” Like all her tours, Rebel Heart had its fair share of provocation, chiefly through repeated sacrilegious references to God and Catholic iconography. But that’s always been Madonna’s cross to bear (and her bread and butter). This time out it was confined to the opening numbers. If you could look past it, as well as her overuse of war and violent imagery (Madonna is seemingly forever fighting someone, from God and Gaga to Guy and the media), you probably left charmed by the evening. The Rebel Heart Tour finds Madonna at her happiest and most personable, and also in her best voice. In past tours she seemed to be performing on auto-pilot, but not on Saturday. Edgy and sassy and unapologetic, Madonna once again proved her predominance in pop performance. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like her new album
