April 10, 1985: Madonna released "Angel" as the third single from the album "Like a Virgin".

" Angel " is a song by Madonna  from her second studio album  Like a Virgin  (1984). It was released on April 10, 1985 by  Sire Records  as the third  single  from the album. Written by Madonna and Steve Bray, it was one of the first songs developed for the project and, according to Madonna, was inspired by a girl who is saved by an angel, and she falls in love with him. "Angel" was released as a 12" single with " Into the Groove " in some countries and charted likewise. A music video was initially planned for the release, but was later cancelled. Instead a promotional video comprising clips from her previous videos was released in the United Kingdom. Musically "Angel" consists of three chord ascending hook, which serves for the verse and chorus. It has vocal harmonies beneath the main chorus and the lyrics repeat the angel-like image of Madonna's saviour. Critical response to the song was mixed, with some music critics call

The KIRO 7 web team dug deep into the treasure trove of archived tape to find a snippet of Madonna's performance from 1985 -- a clip that hasn't been broadcast since the night of April 10, 1985. It shows nearly a minute of "Dress You Up", which was the first song she performed that night.

April 8, 2003: American Life It is the titular track from Madonna's ninth studio album American Life and was released as the lead single from the album.

The lead-off single and title track  of  American Life  was released on  April 8th  (US) / 14th (Europe)  2003 . The song premiered on radio worldwide on March 24th, the same day that it was sent out as official 'digital single' by mail to (American) fans who purchased the MP3 on Madonna's official website. But the Americans didn't turn out grateful for this exclusive, and instead slagged her off for her criticism; the single didn't get higher than a poor #37 in the US Hot 100. This in contrast with the top 10 success elsewhere: #1 in Canada, Japan, Italy; #2 in the UK (only 'Make Luv' by Room 5 did better); #7 in Australia and #10 in France. It also topped the Hot Dance / Club Play chart, making it her 29th dance hit. Remixes of the song were made by Missy Elliott, Peter Rauhofer, Felix da Housecat and Paul Oakenfold. The much talked about video was shot on February 6th and 7th, 2003 in LA by Swedish director  Jonas Ã…kerlund . It continues M

On April 8, 2006, Madonna sold 30,000 tickets in under 40 minutes in Montreal, breaking a record previously held by U2.

On April 8, 2006, Madonna sold 30,000 tickets in under 40 minutes in Montreal, breaking a record previously held by  U2 . On July 9, 2006, 50,000 tickets went on sale for Madonna's Osaka and Tokyo shows. The tickets were sold out in a record breaking five minutes. It was Madonna's first time touring Japan in 13 years, and an additional date was added, September 21, 2006, at the  Tokyo Dome , to meet high demand. On August 8, 2006, more than 35,000 tickets for the first ever Madonna concert in Moscow went on sale and, as claimed by show organizers, all were sold out in four days, which could be a new record in that country as all other artists had taken more than two weeks to sell out the tickets in the region. However, after many problems with the concert including venue uncertainty, rescheduling, ticket exchange and huge amount of tickets in the hands of speculators, tickets were on sale at their nominal values until the last minute.
