April 1, 2008: Madonna Elle "Hard Candy Promotional" Interview.

Enlisting Timbaland, Pharrell and Justin Timberlake to help craft her boundary-burning record Hard Candy Madonna sits down with fanboy and fashion maven Simon Doonan to discuss the state-of-the-art dance album, her new film that will save the world, and why Lourdes loves to shop with mom. Wednesday, February 20, is quite possibly one of the most surreal days of my life. Things get off to a wacky start when my cabdriver – I am barreling toward JFK at some ungodly hour — insists on calling me “ma’am”, throughout the journey. In an effort to generate it bit of respek, I tell him the purpose of my trip. “I’m off to L.A. today, to interview Madonna,” I say in a manly, confident kind of way. “That, nice for you, ma,am,” he replies in a skeptical tone revealing that he believes me to be not just a woman, but it thoroughly deluded woman. The surrealism continues: On the plane, I make a complete spectacle of myself by sobbing all the way, through the 80-minute documentary I Am Because

PART 1                                                                        Madonna made an appearance on  Late Show with David Letterman  on March 31, 1994. In particular, Madonna said the word "fuck" fourteen times during the course of the interview. This made the episode the most censored in American network television talk-show history while at the same time garnering Letterman some of the best ratings he ever received. Madonna's language and behavior—which was provocative, seemingly spontaneous at times, full of double entendres, and ended with a playful refusal to leave the set—caused a large public controversy. The Federal Communications Commission received numerous complaints about the language used on the show, echoing Letterman's (sarcastic)

March 29,1985: Into the Groove video debuts on MTV.

In some ways,  Desperately Seeking Susan  is a chick flick. It stars Rosanna Arquette as Roberta, the unfulfilled wife of the self-proclaimed Hot Tub King of New Jersey. Today, her life as a wistful pampered suburban wife would have gotten her cast on Bravo, but in the innocent halcyon pre-reality television days of the 1980s it meant following a stranger’s life via the personals and getting a knock on the head for her trouble. The resulting amnesia leads Roberta on a wild ride through the seedy bowels of Manhattan and into the arms of Dez played by Aidan Quinn, back when he was dark and brooding. At the height of her rise to fame and in her first movie role, Madonna stars as Susan, the focus of Roberta’s obsessions. It was one of Susan’s several boho boyfriends that stole the Egyptian earrings that kicked off the whole mis-adventure. She hides out in New Jersey ostensibly to help Roberta’s husband track his missing wife and the plot just gets sillier from there. Yes, the plot
