Madonna Channels Lady Gaga By Hiding Under Baggy Clothes In NYC

She loves to get her kit off in provocative and sometime offensive outfits on stage to show off her hot middle-aged bod, but Madonna has followed Lady Gaga's suit in covering up if recent snaps are anything to go by.

The 54-year-old singer is no stranger to revealing some skin in her controversial costumes which fail to protect her modesty on most occasions, but has now taken the conservative route as she was papped in a ridiculously baggy tracksuit last night.

Madge seemed to have taken style tips off Lady Gaga, who has been cowering under gigantic fat suits and burkas in recent weeks to hide her 30lb weight gain, as she donned the bright purple tracksuit that swamped her toned figure following a night out in New York.

And the singer looked a little worse for wear, we're not going to lie, as she added a grey printed scarf but wore sandals to complete the look. If you're cold enough to wear a scarf, why would you wear sandals?!

The Give It 2 Me singer hid her make-up free face underneath a baseball cap and wore her hood up, giving her a rather dishevelled appearance as she was spotted with her toyboy boyfriend, Brahim Xaibat, 25, and her two youngest children, Mercy, six, and David, seven.

Madonna may be trying to keep a low profile after she sparked controversy, yet again, by branding President Barack Obama a ''black muslim'' during a concert on Monday, but drew even more attention to herself by looking like a giant purple scruffbag.

The Making of Madonna’s First Album Cover

Carin Goldberg — the art director behind Madonna’s debut album cover — spoke to  the Cut  about her first experience with the then-unknown pop star. It’s the first question that anybody asks me, even today: What was it like to work with Madonna? People think that maybe something dramatic or interesting or kind of wild might have happened, based on, you know, Madonna’s persona. But I would say that Madonna was probably the easiest job I ever had — the most cooperation from a recording artist I think I ever had. She was a true professional, even at that young age. It was ’83, and at that point I had my own small design firm. Warner Bros. called and asked me to do her cover as a freelance designer. When I got the call, I rolled my eyes, because it was another [musician with a] one-word name. At that time it had become cliché to have a one-word name, because of Cher, so I remember thinking, God, it’s going to be one of those. So I really went into it with very little expec...
