Madonna occupied the UK top 10 for seven weeks in 1985 with "Crazy for you"
This week in 1985, Crazy for you by Madonna reached its highest position of number 2 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 25 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another four weeks. A further five weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Crazy for you was released on the Geffen record label and was the fourth UK top 10 hit for Madonna. It was recorded for the filmVision quest and appeared on its soundtrack album. The single was certified gold in the UK and was a US number 1. A re-issue of the song in 1991 also peaked at number 2.
