On sept 26, 1993 - "The Girlie Show", promoting the Erotica album, Madonna preformed her 2nd date of the Tour...!!

One could think that after watching Madonna’s video for “Rain”, the 5th and final single from “Erotica”, she was toning down her sexually charged image, but with Madonna you can only expect the unexpected.  Instead of turning away from the sexual theme, she clearly enhanced it, making her big entrance with a full dominatrix Dolce & Gabbana costume. The show also featured a top-less dancer, a simulated orgy and plenty of sexy costumes. The Girlie Show had a central theme that could be called like a Circus featuring performances with mixed elements from Burlesque, Cabaret, Rock Concert, and a Fashion Show.
If she had raised the bar up high with The Blond Ambition Tour, for The Girlie Show, in promotion for her 5th studio album, Madonna went a step further. As it was expected, the Tour was a tremendous success, earning the impressive amount of $70 million with only 39 shows. For the first time Madonna visited unexplored territories in Latin America, Australia, and Asia, but at the same time she reduced the number of shows in North America and Europe, playing only three cities in the United States.
Compared to her older tours, the design for the stage was more complex, featuring a catwalk to a minor stage, an elevator, several moving platforms and balconies at different stage levels. This was certainly Madonna’s most elaborate stage design at this point. The setlist was also very eclectic, for the first time Madonna avoided the general hits loved by the public and focused on the new songs. However she did play several hits though like Express yourself, Vogue, Holiday and La Isla bonita, but all went through major reinventions, and even dared to revisit album tracks like the unexpected “I’m going bananas” from I’m Breathless.
But overall the important issue is that she managed to silence all the critics who were announcing the end of her career, as the show was a hit, and she continued to cement her place as the most exciting live pop performer in show business, a job she has kept doing continuously to this day. It was broadcasted by HBO and the performance in Sydney, Australia was released on video by the name, Live Down Under.

On July 10 1985, The Playboy magazine issue of nude Madonna photos was released !!

Playboy  publishes nude photos of  Madonna  taken before she was famous. The singer did a number of nude photo shoots from 1977-1980, starting when she was an 18-year-old student at the University of Michigan looking for some extra cash and trying to form a band. Now a huge star,  Playboy  publishes some of the shots taken in 1979 and 1980 in a revealing spread. A year earlier, the magazine turned down nude photos of Miss America winner  Vanessa Williams , which their rival  Penthouse  published. "We think Vanessa genuinely didn't know what she was doing, didn't know her photos might be published," the article states. "Madonna, on the other hand, posed repeatedly for two noted photographers who routinely publish what they shoot." One of the photographers, Lee Friedlander, says of the shoot: "She seemed very confident, a street-wise girl." Madonna has little to say on the matter, but doesn't shy away. "I'm not ashamed,&q

Madonna's ex Carlos Leon marries designer Betina Holte...and daughter Lourdes attends the wedding

Her father Carlos Leon split from her mother Madonna in 1996, shortly after she was born. But Lourdes Leon clearly bears no ill will towards the 47-year-old personal trainer. The 16-year-old was seen attending Carlos' wedding to Zac Posen designer Betina Holte recently in Denmark. I do: Madonna's ex Carlos Leon recently wed designer Betina Holte in Gillelje, Denmark, and his daughter Lourdes attended the ceremony  Daddy's girl: Lourdes Leon looked pretty in a black floral frock as she left the church  The high school student wore a pretty navy blue floral dress and wedge heels, covering her head with a scarf. She was seen giggling with a friend outside the picturesque church in the Denmark town of Gillelje. Carlos, meanwhile, grinned widely as he posed with his beautiful blonde wife inside the church.  Handsome couple: Betina looked gorgeous in her slim-fitting gown, while Carlos looked typically striking in a grey suit  She's got

In honour of  amFAR  (The American Foundation for AIDS Research), Gaultier held a fashion benefit whose runway included everything from lip-synching to Dr Ruth dressed in rubber to raise money for a cause that devastated (and continues to devastate) communities around the world.
