Before the days of a CD Burner, you couldn't put together a better album than Madonna's greatest hits compilation, "The Immaculate Collection". The album featured all of her best singles from the years 1982-1990, which included "Holiday", "Vogue", "Like a Prayer", and several other iconic songs. The album would spend 9 weeks atop the charts and went multi-platinum in 12 countries (including 12x platinum in the UK).
"The Immaculate Collection" also featured two new singles by Madonna: "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me". "Justify My Love" became a number 1 single and got it's music video banned by MTV for sexual and explicit content.
The album is widely regarded as one of the best solo artist compilation albums ever, as it's sold over 30 million copies worldwide. It is also the highest selling album by a female artist in British history.
