Bad Girl, released worldwide as the third single in February 202 1993, suffered the most from the Erotica controversy, reaching a poor #36 in the US, #10 in the UK, #5 in Canada, #11 in Japan and #32 in Australia.

Video

As a single Bad Girl might have scored rather poorly, but the video by David Fincher is a true masterpiece. Actor Christopher Walken is a guardian angel, watching over bad girl Madonna. But he can't stop her from enjoying that 'sex, drugs & rock 'n' roll'... The video has some cool visual effects; definitely among Madonna's best!

Carin Goldberg — the art director behind Madonna’s debut album cover — spoke to  the Cut  about her first experience with the then-unknown pop star. It’s the first question that anybody asks me, even today: What was it like to work with Madonna?
